DEAS VAIL’S SOPHOMORE FULL LENGTH ALBUM "BIRDS & CAGES" DEBUTS AT #37 ON BILLBOARD HEATSEEKERS CHART

Deas Vail's sophomore full length album "Birds & Cages" debuts at #37 on Billboard Heatseekers.

“an album that sets a standard of excellence. Birds and Cages is a dynamic release that features rich melodies, soaring vocals, and dramatic piano arrangements. Fans of Death Cab for Cutie and Mae will appreciate what these emo-indie rockers have to offer” –Bite Me Music + Fashion, October 2009

Deas Vail’s Mono vs Stereo debut Birds & Cages enters Billboards Heatseekers chart at #37, the CD was produced Mark Townsend (Relient K, House of Heroes) and is out now at all digital outlets and set for a physical release street of January 26, 2010.

The band will prove to be unstoppable with endless touring well into 2010. Currently you can find the band on the road with Mae and look for the band to kick into 2010 in high gear as they hit the road with Owl City on January 21 (full list of dates below.)

“Deas Vail is one of the few bands who can take pop/rock music and force the listener to apply “beautiful” to it as an adjective. High pitched vocal melodies and musical ones of the same caliber dance around, each with the hopes of outdoing the other” – The Album Project, October 2009

The band formed a few years ago while its members were students at Arkansas Tech in the Midwestern hamlet of Russellville, AR. With 1 full length and 2 EP's already under their belt, Deas Vail mixes up a unique blend of indie-rock on their latest effort Birds & Cages.

“We called the record Birds & Cages because we felt like we were just stuck in these cages in life. Yet there was freedom there, just beyond. The songs are about the search for freedom and release from all the cages.”-explains singer Wes Blaylock

There is indeed a feeling of emotional release in the sweeping contours of the tracks “The Things You Were,” “Growing Pains” and “Excuses,” with Blaylock pushing his skyscraping wonder of a voice up, over and around shining mists of guitars, pounding drums and dramatic strings. This elegant buoyancy is the sonic thread that runs throughout the record. Even when the mood shifts, from the autumnal chamber pop of “Dance In Perfect Time” through prog-influenced gearshifter “The Great Physician” to the delicate music box pirouette of “Puzzles and Pieces,” there is a sense that, for all the uncertainty, the search for something more will be rewarded.

Deas Vail’s Birds & Cages is the second release from the newly revived record label, Mono vs. Stereo, a partnership between Gotee Records and Relient K.
